GI VALENTINE

Age: 29 City: New York Years Modeling: 5
NV by did you decide to become a model?
It’s funny how it all started! I am a make-up artist, usually behind the camera. But I always had a feeling in my heart that I would love to model. Since I’m only 5’1 and I’m a curvy girl, I never thought there would be a chance for a girl like to me to do it until I met a photographer that saw more into me then just in height. We started off with beauty shoots, playing with colors of make up, then progressing into full body. Being in front of the camera came naturally because I did dance and theater my whole bk. I knew that while this won’t be my sole profession, it’s all about having fun and creating a talent for yourself. I love proving that short girls with curves can do it too!
What are your favorite things to shoot?
Being the in the beauty industry I love shooting clean, fresh make up, mixing with simple and flattering outfits. Being able to show off the skin you’re in and something sexy always works hand and hand with each other. Your body and face are the masterpiece!
Favorite activities when not modeling?
Is hustling an activity?! Because that would be my number one! Followed by dancing, painting and make-up. It is always good to keep your mind and body active.
Tips for girls interested in modeling?
Your height and size don’t matter as long as you keep a clean diet and take care of yourself inside and out — you can do anything! If modeling is a passion and something you truly feel you would enjoy doing, then go for it! Put your energy into something that drives your passion. People might be throw stones at your idea, or they might back you up 100%. If your interest is your interest, no one else matters but you.
What are the things you look for in a guy when dating?
They guys I date MUST have drive, ambition and intelligence; a cute face and nice body mean nothing if you do not those! A man with a goal just doesn’t have a goal for himself, he has a goal for a future family, and that is the sexiest things possible. However, his style also needs to be on point and we must compliment one another. No relationship should ever be a competition, both people are equal and should be pushing each other in the right direction. Also, a man should always stick up for the woman that he loves and NO ONE should steer his thoughts or heart; if that is the case, he is not a leader he is a follower, which means he has no drive for himself. Fight for what you love if its worth it! So sexy!
What outfit makes you feel most sexy?
Boy shorts and a cropped tank! If I’m feeling super sexy, 111 throw on a pair of red bottoms — us short girls know that when we make our legs look longer, we instantly feel sexy! This is probably my favorite outfit to shoot in as well. Boobies and booties are sexy, let it be seen!
How do you maintain your body, i.e. work-out regimen?
Eat clean, and do squats and run or walk everyday. And I don’t mean walking through your work office. I mean a couple of New York City blocks or avenues! Always have a healthy snack. If your like me I work 10 hours a day including travel time. Always make sure you have fruits nuts or a juice to hold you over. If you can’t make the gym, find yourself an alternative approach to workout. Take up a pole dancing class, or release some anger in kickboxing! Either way keep your body active, drink a lot of water and feed your body healthy!
How do you prepare for a shoot?
The night before I lemon and water detox, about 5 to 6 bottles of it to help flush out my system. Then comes the outfits! I must try on about 10 to 15 outfits the night before knowing that I’m probaly only going to wear 3! A quick chat with my best friend and boyfriend always make me feel better too. Its who you have on your team that make you feel and do great — positive words work!
What photographeriartist would you love to work with most? OR If you could conceptualize any shoot to be in, what would it be?
I LOVE my main photographer Josh Paull! He is hands down the most respectful and talented man I ever met! I feel you shoot your best when your comfortable with the photographer and know he is professional. I would love to do a nighttime shoot on the beach –Costa Rica, Hawaii, Dubai; anything dark sexy and near the water would be perfect for me! I lint I lint Josh!
Xoxo, Gi
